Warner Bros by the hand of the director and writer Christopher Nolan presents the second installment of what will be the most successful trilogy of the gothic city masking. Under the direction of Nolan, the production of Emma Thomas and Charles Roven comes The Dark Knight.
The film was released on July 14, 2014; and far exceeded its predecessor, it was acclaimed by critics and obtained ninety-eight percent acceptance from the general audience, received a weighting of ten over ten, and collected more than one billion dollars at the box office alone, not counting the huge marketing and advertising campaigns that I starred in.
This incredible film saw the fruit of his work with eight Academy Award Oscar nominations, of which he was awarded in two of them, best-supporting actor for the late Heath Ledger and Best Sound Editing for Richard King; American Film Institute awarded her as best film of the year, the renowned BAFTA Awards nominated her in nine categories; Empire Awards, Golden Globe, Grammy Awards, MTV Movie Awards, People’s Choice Awards, among others also awarded her to this successful film production, which marked the best moment of a batman.
The leading cast underwent minor modifications, however, it kept most of its actors, the most significant change was that of Rachel Dawes, who had been played by Katie Holmes and was replaced by Margalit Ruth Gyllenhaal. Wales actor Christian Bale continues to wear the mask and personify the millionaire Bruce Wayne; Michael Caine continues as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as James Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. The new characters are played by Eckhart as Harvey Dent and Two Faces; Heath Ledger as the Joker, Eric Robert is Sal Maroni, Chin Han is the accountant of the Lau mafia, among others.
Gothic City live an apparent calm and peace stage, but nothing is further from reality, organized crime is taking more force than ever. Nine months have elapsed since the last incursion of the batman; a mysterious group of assailants bursts into a small local bank to empty their coffers, they wore a clown mask to hide their identity, less their leader who dressed as a clown and instead of wearing a mask used makeup.
This character manipulates the assailants to kill each other with the excuse of dividing money into fewer parts, but it ends with all the spoils fleeing in a school bus; that was not an ordinary bank, nor was it randomly selected, the financial institution served as a facade to the mafia to be able to launder its dirty money.
Organized crime and powerful mafias are the biggest problems facing Gothic cities, and that is why Lieutenant Gordon and Batman hold a secret meeting, and which they plan to include in their plans against crime the newly appointed district attorney Harvey Dent, who they believe possesses sufficient qualities to be the public hero that the masked man cannot be; he is a man with strong convictions and a clear vision of how to face the problem, as well as having an unshakable moral and incorruptible personality.
But at that time they have no idea what awaits them, they must fight the worst criminal of all time, a ruthless, evil and deranged being who will not stop for anything or anyone to achieve his goals; and if that were not enough, they will have to fight against their own system, which is deeply compromised by the mafias, who have flooded Gothic city institutions with corruption.
